Tasks, settings and focus history are stored on your device. Usage analytics are enabled by default and can be disabled in Settings. There is no automatic cloud sync; clearing browser storage can remove local records. Read the privacy details.
The loaded timer and local records can work without a connection. Reloading the website, visiting uncached pages or loading audio and images may require internet access. The website does not guarantee offline reloads.
Choose another tool if you need automatic cross-device sync or app blocking. Compare timer workflows and limitations.
Turn a Vague Task into a Focus Block
Instead of setting a goal such as finish the project, choose an observable step: draft three slide titles, review one spreadsheet or reply to two messages. Put that step in Tasks and make it the session target.
Choose Start Focus when you are ready. Keep only the materials you need nearby and decide which interruptions can wait. The timer provides a visible boundary; it does not block websites, silence other apps or guarantee concentration.
Handle Interruptions and Restart Clearly
If something unrelated comes up, write a brief note or use distraction logging before returning to the task. If you need to stop, Pause holds the remaining time. Leave a restart note explaining the next action.
Review the work alongside your local session history. For practice questions and revision, try the study workflow; for longer project steps, try the deep work timer.
